Don't just end up with an Old Mermaid card at the end of the game in this fun Old Maid version! • Sea Creature Cards: 13 different sea creatures (4 of each) and 1 Old Mermaid card.
1.
Shuffle the cards and deal them equally to all players.
2.
Players may look at their cards, but they must not show them to the other players.
Objective of the Game: • To remove sea creatures from your hand by making pairs.
• The player left with an Old Mermaid card at the end of the game loses.
How to Play? 1.
Players select pairs of identical sea creatures from their hands and place them face up in front of them.
2.
How It Works: • The first player (the person who went to the sea last is chosen) selects one of the cards from the player to their left.
• If the card drawn forms a pair with a sea creature in your hand, place that pair in front of you.
• If you can’t form a pair, the turn goes to the next player.
3.
Play continues until players run out of cards.
• If you run out of cards, you are out of the game (you don’t lose).
• The Old Mermaid Card: The player holding this card at the end of the game loses.
End of the Game: • When all the cards are gone, the player holding the Old Mermaid card loses.
• All other players win.
• Tip for younger players: You can start by discarding 2 cards of each animal.
